Product details
This noble green tea comes from the main island of Honshū, specifically from the Shizuoka Prefecture. The region is known as the center of Japanese tea trade. The special soil composition, combined with a unique climate, characterizes this area and allows the plants to thrive fantastically. The result is a mild yet highly aromatic cup, supported by a delicate sweetness. Sencha is a green tea known for its distinctive and fresh flavor, featuring very uniform, emerald-green leaves. A typical characteristic of Japanese green teas is that they are pre-dried with hot air and then usually treated briefly with hot steam to interrupt fermentation. Over three-quarters of the tea grown in Japanese tea gardens is Sencha. Most regions produce different types, each named according to their processing method. In Japan, there are various cultivation methods for green tea. Sencha comes from open fields exposed to full sunlight, distinguishing it from other varieties, such as Gyokuro, which grow with reduced sunlight.
