Riva Alva lime

Hard, calcium-rich water is a well-known problem in most Swiss municipalities. Particularly in the canton of Jura, Basel-Land, and the Mittelland region, hard to very hard water can be expected. Hard water has numerous disadvantages: in addition to the scaling of fixtures and household appliances, the consumption of detergents and cleaning agents increases. Furthermore, the taste of beverages and food is negatively affected. After a long development process by engineers at Riva Water Filter Technology, we are finally able to offer a chemical-free, biological filtration solution. The working principle of our lime filter Riva Alva Lime is based on the natural principle of seed crystal formation. As soon as the drinking water comes into contact with our granulate, the calcium contained in it begins to grow in the form of tiny crystals on the granulate. These calcium crystals are washed away from the surface of the granulate and flushed out through the piping system, without being able to settle on other surfaces. This significantly reduces lime deposits on surfaces and in household appliances. The filter cartridge needs to be replaced after 6 months. The recommended maximum flow rate is 8000 liters. Depending on the water quality, particularly with noticeably reduced water flow, a filter cartridge change may also be necessary at shorter intervals.
