Marzipan can be used not only to create delicious pastries but also to shape fantastic figures, flowers, and other decorations. Cake coverings are also often made with marzipan, as it tastes deliciously of almonds, unlike fondant, making it a perfect match for a fine cake. Any unused scraps can be kneaded back together, stored in an airtight container, and used for the next creation. If the marzipan becomes too sticky, a little baker's starch or powdered sugar can help. If small figures or marzipan fruits are shaped from it, you can enjoy them right away, use them as decoration for a cake or a particularly elegant cupcake, or let them dry a bit and give them as gifts.
