Demeter flaxseed oil is cold-pressed and bottled in small batches using a refined pressing method that has been optimized for over 18 years, located outside Zurich in Aathal/Heusberg. This golden, sweet-smelling cooking oil derived from Linum Usitatissimum is available in its native, unfiltered, and untreated form. It is optimally protected from light and oxidation-promoting environmental influences in violet glass. Flaxseed oil contains an average of 52 to 55% omega-3 fatty acids, which are naturally plant-based. The oil is ideally packaged in 100 ml portions, with the outer carton containing four bottles. If one portion oxidizes due to usage conditions, the remaining portions remain fresh and protected. Larger units are available for frequent and heavy users. Flaxseed oil is a fundamental ingredient in the Budwig cream. The ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 is 1:4.

The biodynamically grown flaxseeds are cultivated under contractual agreement with the peace-promoting Sekem project in Egypt. As a measure against food waste, the press cakes are further processed into flaxseed flour. Residual oil is collected and turned into organic flaxseed oil varnish.
