Product details
Cistus creticus from NaturKraftWerke comes from organic cultivation in eastern Crete. A group of young organic farmers has been cultivating wonderful aromatic plants and herbs in the eastern Lassithi region near Sitia for several years. The Cretan rockrose (Cistus creticus, Cistus incanus), also known as gray-haired rockrose, belongs to the family of rockrose plants. The plant is a natural part of wild Mediterranean maquis landscapes. The shrubs are evergreen with delicate, tissue-like pink flowers. The herb has a spicy, floral scent that is slightly sweet-bitter and somewhat resinous. NaturKraftWerke Cistus is carefully hand-harvested in the summer and then gently dried in the shade. Primarily, the upper parts of the branches are used. The leaves and flowers, along with a small portion of the stems, are coarsely chopped and packaged after drying. In the NaturKraftWerke company headquarters, the valuable dried product is inspected again and packaged in paper bags.
There are many uses for Cistus herb, such as in tea and as a spice, or even as a bath additive, among other things.
Tea: Pour boiling water over one teaspoon of Cistus herb per cup and let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
