Curry powder is a spice blend whose composition depends on the creativity of the mixer. Everyone has their own recipe, which essentially remains a secret, leading to countless variations. Curry powder consists of many ingredients such as cardamom, star anise, cinnamon, cumin, coriander, cloves, pepper, mustard seeds, chili, allspice, turmeric, fenugreek, ginger, poppy seeds, saffron, nutmeg, almonds, and coconut. Whole spices are carefully selected, roasted, and then ground or processed into a colorful paste. While powdered form is preferred in Western countries, a paste is more commonly used in Asia.
