Matilde Serena Maduro Toro Bravo
ToroProduct details
The Matilde Serena Maduro is a slightly bolder and darker version of the original Matilde Serena. The new Maduro line features an oily Mexican Maduro wrapper, a Dominican Criollo ‘98 binder, and a filler made from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Upon lighting, the Serena Maduro offers complex and balanced flavors that engage the palate.
A pleasant sweetness is consistently present throughout the smoking experience, accompanied by rich notes of mocha coffee, dried fruits, and toast. Experienced aficionados will also recognize hints reminiscent of earth, tobacco storage, and leather.
Thus, the Matilde Serena Maduro is a more flavor-intensive evolution of the Serena line, where the essence of the milder Serena is still present.
Matilde is one of the oldest cigar brands in the Dominican Republic. It was founded in 1876 in Santiago de los Caballeros and was one of the first tobacco companies in the Dominican Republic. However, the operation was discontinued in the early 20th century. In 2014, the brand was revived by the Seijas family. Their first line, the Matilde Renacer, immediately made it into the Top 25 Cigars of 2014 and was awarded 92 points.
