Island Bakery Harissa & Cumin Cheese Biscuits

The team at Island Bakery has long yearned to create a savory creation. With such fantastic artisanal cheese, like that from the Isle of Mull Cheesery, made right on our doorstep, it would have been crazy to look for inspiration any further than the same island. Aside from the cheese, all ingredients are organically grown. Like all their biscuits, these are produced in their environmentally sustainable factory powered by local renewable energy.

These finely spiced full-butter biscuits have a melt-in-your-mouth texture with the flavor of Isle of Mull Cheese, gently warmed with harissa. Harissa paste is a staple from North Africa or the Middle East that blends chili with garlic and other exquisite spices. The fine, salty biscuits highlight not only the popular cheese flavor but also earthy cumin and a carefully selected mix of other fragrant spices.

Island Bakery is a family business run by Joe and Dawn Reade. It all started humbly with freshly baked bread for the islanders. Soon, the couple began making artisanal biscuits so that everyone could enjoy a little piece of the Isle of Mull.
