It is also suitable for colouring with food colouring. Leave the sugar paste to rest for an hour after colouring to achieve the best results. Knead the sugar paste again before further processing. To cover a round cake with a diameter of 20 cm, you will need about 500 g of sugar paste. Preparation: The following procedure is recommended to achieve the best result: Allow the sugarpaste to come to room temperature. Knead the sugar paste vigorously until it is smooth and elastic. Dust the work surface with a little icing sugar and roll out the sugarpaste into an even shape (2-3 mm thick) using a rolling pin. Turn the sugar paste by a quarter so that it doesn't stick. Are small cracks still visible at the edges when the sugar paste is rolled out? Knead again vigorously until the edges are smooth when rolled out. The sugarpaste is then ready to use.
