Product details
El Baton is one of the historic brands of J.C. Newman, created by founder J.C. Newman in 1914. This nickel cigar was originally hand-rolled in a factory in Cleveland, Ohio, using Cuban tobacco. Although it was popular for many years, El Baton disappeared from the market in the 1920s with the rise of machine-made cigars. In 2008, J.C.'s grandsons, Eric and Bobby Newman, reintroduced the brand as the company's first Nicaraguan cigar. El Baton cigars are grown in the most fertile regions of Nicaragua and offer a smooth, hearty smoke with a hint of spice. At its debut, El Baton was only available in one format, the Double Torpedo. Since then, the brand has expanded to three additional formats: Double Toro, Robusto, and Belicoso. Its return has been met with enthusiastic reviews and acclaim from a variety of cigar lovers, including a 91 rating from Cigar Aficionado.
One of the boldest cigars from J.C. Newman
Even though it has some history, don't be fooled; this is not your grandfather's cigar. This is the boldest cigar in J.C. Newman's lineup. Made from full-bodied tobacco, El Baton has a spicy kick that creates a surprising experience.
