Product details
In 1884, the young Spanish immigrant Angel LaMadrid Cuesta opened his first cigar factory and soon earned a reputation as one of the greatest artisanal cigar makers of his time. A few years later, he was joined by Peregrino Rey, and together they founded the world-renowned Cuesta-Rey cigars of the highest quality. Cuesta-Rey cigars were once the official cigar of Spanish King Alfonso XIII in the 19th century, and Señor Cuesta was honored with the title "Tobacco Supplier to the Spanish King and Court." Today, more than a century later, Señor Cuesta's commitment to handcrafted cigars is celebrated with the Cuesta-Rey cigar line.
The Cuesta-Rey Centenario combines history and exceptional flavor into an ultra-smooth, creamy premium cigar with a mild to medium body. Once the official cigar of Spanish King Alfonso XIII, it is a cigar for the connoisseur who is accustomed to only the finest imported handmade cigars.
The Centenario is carefully hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic by the renowned Tabacalera A. Fuente and is wrapped in either a light Connecticut Shade Natural or a dark Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro to provide a smooth and creamy taste. Filled with Cuban long filler, each cigar ages for up to five years in a specially designed cedar wood storage. After five stages of quality control and more than a century of expert craftsmanship, the cigars that meet all criteria are adorned with the Cuesta-Rey Centenario band.
