Crowned Heads La Carême Robusto

The Le Careme cigars were first introduced in the USA in 2016 and have been available with us since the summer of 2022. As is customary with cigars from Crowned Heads, there is a fascinating story behind the name. They are a tribute to the culinary pioneer of the 19th century, Marie-Antoine Careme. He lived from 1784 to 1833 in Paris and laid the foundations for the modern success of refined French cuisine. His likeness can still be seen today on the Médaille de l'Académie culinaire de France.

Le Careme by Crowned Heads: A Cigar to Enjoy

These cigars are produced at Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo in the Dominican Republic. This is also where the cigars for Four Kicks, Headley Grange, and J.D. Howard Reserve for Crowned Heads are rolled. Ernesto is said to have remarked about this blend that it tastes almost like a chocolate soufflé! This flavor is achieved through the Connecticut Broadleaf Grade A wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and Nicaraguan filler.

The Le Careme impresses with its diverse and harmonious flavors such as bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, wood, and pepper. It pairs well as a dessert after a hearty meal. The Le Careme is a medium to full-bodied cigar with a complex and enjoyable smoking experience. The burn was even, and its smoke was voluminous.
