Crowned Heads Juarez Willy Lee Toro

The guys and gals at Crowned Heads have teamed up with the (still) relatively unknown Tabacalera Pichardo in Esteli, Nicaragua, to develop a more affordable cigar line. The idea behind this was to create a cost-effective alternative to the already established and very popular Jericho Hill cigars. Tabacalera Pichardo is now the fourth Tabacalera that Crowned Heads has collaborated with. So far, all Crowned Heads cigars have been produced either at Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr.'s Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. in the Dominican Republic or by My Father Cigars S.A. (Don Pepin Garcia) and Jonathan Drew's Drew Estate in Nicaragua.

The cigars in this line feature a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Charlie Minato, a colleague from the blog Halfwheel.com in the USA, describes the flavor as follows: "Dijon mustard, floral, a bit of onion powder, and some crushed peanuts." Harmonious, with a slight natural sweetness and no prominent pepper or bitterness, they are very pleasant, mild companions for any time of day.

Crowned Heads is a relatively young boutique brand but has already made a very good name for itself in the cigar world. This is largely thanks to Jon Huber and his co-founder Mike Conder, who tirelessly refine quality, flavor, and consistency with a unique passion. The cigars are produced in renowned factories in Nicaragua.
