Elderberry was only cultivated in Europe around 1960. The many positive properties of the tree, such as low susceptibility to disease and good frost resistance, quickly became apparent, leading to the plant gaining popularity and becoming an integral part of the European landscape. For our Biotta elderberry juice, we use the Haschberg variety, which is the highest quality and most flavorful elderberry variety. The black berries are harvested and pressed by hand at the end of summer, ensuring a gentle process. This results in a natural juice without artificial additives or added sugar. Thanks to the careful production, the juice has a delightful and fruity-mild taste. The German Agricultural Society confirmed the exceptional flavor and high quality of Biotta elderberry juice, awarding it the DLG Gold Medal.
