It is based on hydrolysed rice protein and is suitable for infants and young children with a cow's milk allergy, lactose intolerance or galactosaemia. It should only be dispensed in consultation with a specialist. Cow's milk allergy is the most common food allergy in children under the age of three. Fortunately, this allergy is often outgrown. Cow's milk is often the first foreign protein an infant comes into contact with. The child's immune system can categorise the milk protein as "foreign" or "dangerous" and thus trigger an allergic reaction.
