The label specifies how plant and animal organic foods must be produced: at least 95 percent of the ingredients must come from organic farming. No organic-synthetic pesticides or chemically-synthetic fertilizers are used. Production is free from genetically modified organisms. Animals are kept in a manner that respects their needs for ventilation, space, comfort, and light. They are fed with organically produced feed without the addition of antibiotics and growth promoters. When treating sick animals, plant-based or homeopathic medicines should be preferred. The feeding of animal meal is prohibited. For labeling, the code number of the organic control and the origin of all ingredients must be clearly visible in the field of view of the EU Organic logo on the product.
