Origin/Cultivation: Peru; harvested in the Alpaca region of the Andes.
History: Maca is also known as "Peruvian ginseng" and grows as a root tuber in the highlands of the Andes at elevations above 3,800 meters. The root as a food source dates back to the Inca Empire, where it was reserved for the upper echelons of society and given as a reward to warriors to enhance their combat abilities.
Note: This is the yellow and strongest variety of Maca. The export comes from the Andean region of Pasco and is carefully cultivated by local farmers under strictly controlled conditions according to organic standards.
Recommended dosage: 1 level teaspoon daily.
