Regular cleansing of wounds prevents excessive proliferation of pathogenic germs and thus prevents wound infection. In the case of already infected wounds, adjuvant wound irrigation can help to significantly reduce the germ load.

This is achieved by the mechanical effect of irrigation. In addition, wound scabs, necrosis, cell detritus, and biofilm can delay or even prevent wound healing. The good cleansing effect of the Veriforte™med wound irrigation solution makes it easier to remove such obstacles, and by creating a physiological wound environment, wound healing is additionally promoted. In acute wounds, contamination with germs cannot be ruled out. To prevent infection, thorough wound cleansing is absolutely recommended.

Veriforte™med wound irrigation solution is suitable for irrigation of acute, chronic, and contaminated wounds and burns up to grade 2. In addition, Veriforte™med wound irrigation solution can be used to irrigate body cavities such as the mouth, nose, throat, ears, and peritoneal cavity. Veriforte™med wound irrigation solution is suitable for intraoperative irrigation of the surgical site. It is not suitable for systemic use, meaning no intravenous or intra-arterial injections or infusions may be performed with Veriforte™med wound irrigation solution.

Veriforte™med wound irrigation solution can be used for careful cleansing of the following wounds:

• All chronic wounds of any depth, such as diabetic foot ulcers, all forms of leg ulcers, decubitus ulcers, and radiation ulcers.
• All acute wounds, such as cuts, bites, lacerations, and abrasions.
• Surgical wounds (intraoperative and postoperative).
• Wounds with exposed cartilage, tendons, ligaments, or bone.
• Burns up to grade 2.
• Fistulas and abscesses.
• Body cavities such as the mouth, nose, and ears.
• Wounds that are critically colonized.
• Soft tissue injuries.
