One of the main problems with eyelid margin inflammation (blepharitis) is the solidification of the secretion of the sebaceous glands (meibomian glands) located in the eyelid margin. This can lead to the formation of crusts on the edge of the eyelid and eyelashes. The heat treatment softens the crusts on the edge of the eyelid and the secretion of the meibomian glands. This makes it easier to remove the crusts and the secretion can simply be wiped out during the subsequent eyelid massage. It is therefore extremely important to maintain or improve the function of the meibomian glands.

After use, the Posiforlid eye mask must be boiled in a pot of boiling water to liquefy the milky, cloudy contents and prepare the eye mask for reactivation.
