The surgical disposable masks for children of type IIR EN 14683: 2019 consist of three layers of non-woven fabric, each serving a specific function. The outer non-woven layer, made using spunbond technology, is water-repellent and provides strength to the mask. The middle non-woven layer, produced with meltblown technology, acts as a particle filter. The inner non-woven layer, also made with spunbond technology, protects the face by preventing direct contact with the filter layer. The fabric used (non-woven) is treated with an eco-friendly agent that is virus- and water-repellent. It carries the international environmental certification GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). A surgical mask should generally be replaced after 6-8 hours of use.
