Product details
A common diagnosis in the area of the forearm is epicondylitis humeri lateralis and is commonly referred to as tennis elbow. This is caused by an overload of the respective forearm tendon and becomes noticeable through inflammatory reactions and pain in the area of the elbow.
In order for the irritation and pain to subside, the overloaded tendon insertions at the epicondyle must be relieved. This is achieved with the epicondylitis brace. The applied epi-brace exerts a controlled pressure on the tendons and muscles, which changes the direction of force of the tendons and thus noticeably reduces the tensile forces at the tendon insertions. This tension reduction has a positive effect on the gliding behaviour of the tendon tissue and on the entire muscular apparatus of the forearm. Muscle tension is relieved, irritation and pain subside.
During the hand and finger movements, the inner and outer pads massage the tissue. These pulling, stretching and pressure stimuli stimulate the proprioceptors there. This stimulation activates the body's own pain-inhibiting mechanisms at the spinal cord level.
