The present study focused on the formulation and development of a plant-based sunscreen cream using extracts from plant materials such as Terminalia arjuna, Tinospora cordifolia, and Glycyrrhiza glabra. The oil-in-water (O/W) cream was made from a 95% isopropyl alcohol extract of T. arjuna, P. corylifolia, and G. glabra. The SPF value of the cream was evaluated in vitro, examining various parameters such as pH, viscosity, spreadability, and stability. The prepared cream exhibited the highest SPF value of 42.25. The herbal cream demonstrated good spreadability, consistency, homogeneity, appearance, pH, ease of removal, and no signs of phase separation. The formulated plant-based sunscreen cream was safe for use on the skin.
