Philips Lumea uses a light-based technology called IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), which is commonly used in professional beauty salons for hair removal. Philips Lumea treats hair roots with gentle light pulses, gradually reducing hair regrowth. With repeated treatments, your skin remains hair-free and wonderfully smooth.

Philips Lumea offers five different intensity levels for an effective and gentle treatment. When used correctly, Philips Lumea delivers impressive results, even on sensitive skin and delicate areas of the body. Philips Lumea is a complete solution that is ready to use right away. What's even more important is that no replacement bulbs or gels are needed.

Philips Lumea can be used on (naturally) dark blonde, brown, and black hair. Like all other light-based treatments, it is not effective on red, light blonde, or white/gray hair. This product is also not suitable for dark skin.

For added safety, the built-in skin tone sensor measures the color of the skin to be treated at the beginning of each session and periodically during the treatment. If a skin tone is detected that is too dark for treatment with this product, no light pulses will be emitted. The Philips Lumea Advanced features a large treatment window for quick application on large body areas, such as the legs. The precision attachment and the bikini area attachment cover up to 2 cm², while the body attachment covers up to 4 cm².
