newfoundland Rapid test: Ovulation
Product details
About the Test
Ovulation occurs when an egg is released from the ovary, usually about two weeks before the next period. Women have varying lengths of menstrual cycles. To determine ovulation, you count the days in your cycle. The cycle runs from the first day of your period to the day before the next one. Ovulation depends on the length of your cycle. For example, if your cycle lasts 28 days, ovulation typically occurs around day 14, and the most fertile days are between days 11 and 14. In a 24-day cycle, ovulation happens around day 10, with the best days for conception being between days 7 and 10. Women with a 35-day cycle are usually most fertile between days 18 and 21. Just before ovulation, the body releases large amounts of luteinizing hormone (LH), which triggers ovulation. An ovulation test measures this hormone in urine and helps predict ovulation and the most fertile time. During this period, the likelihood of becoming pregnant is highest.
