Did you know that conventional sanitary pads are made up of 90% plastics? Plastics pollute the environment and can irritate the skin. That's why we use over 99% biodegradable and compostable plant cellulose instead of highly absorbent polymers. Chlorine bleaching produces a carcinogenic byproduct called dioxin. We do not want even a trace of this in our products, which is why we always use oxygen to clean and whiten our organic cotton. Every year, over 45 billion menstrual hygiene products are disposed of somewhere. Given the high plastic content of these products, burning them can lead to toxic emissions from chimneys, while shifting them to landfills means that plastics remain in the environment forever.
