The Natracare tampon without an applicator is made from 100% organic cotton. As the cotton gradually absorbs the blood, the tampon expands in width. Unlike the tampon with an applicator, this tampon is inserted using your longest finger through the flared end to position it correctly. The choice between a tampon with or without an applicator ultimately depends on your personal preference. About 20% of women have a retroverted uterus, which means the uterus tilts backward toward the spine instead of forward. A rigid applicator can cause discomfort during insertion in such cases.
