The effective alum stone is now also available in a practical travel size with a protective case. The alum crystal is made entirely without preservatives and fragrances. The alum stick is not industrially manufactured but naturally grown and simply shaped. In the past, the alum stone was considered a styptic and was part of the basic equipment for shaving. The astringent effect of the natural stone is why it remains a popular aftershave today. The alum stone is also suitable as a deodorant, as the minerals it contains reduce the bacteria that cause typical body odor.
