The Mepilex Border Heel dressing is the only foam dressing with five layers specifically designed for the heel, featuring Deep Defense technology. When used in conjunction with other standard prevention protocols, it has been proven to prevent the development of pressure ulcers. The dressing can also be used to treat moderately to heavily exuding wounds in the heel area. It absorbs and retains exudate, while maintaining an appropriate moisture balance to prevent maceration. This improved design includes new tabs and thicker edges for quicker application and patient assessment. The heel shape has been optimized to ensure good coverage of the heel and ankle area, which is particularly at risk. The optimized design also features Safetac – the original contact layer with silicone adhesion that minimizes pain during dressing changes. As a result, the dressing is comfortable and conforms to the patient's anatomy, allowing for easy removal without damaging the skin. This makes dressing changes less painful for your patients.
