Mepilex Border Flex offers superior conformability compared to other tested foam dressings with an adhesive edge, thanks to its unique Flex technology. This dressing adapts to the patient's movements and remains securely in place, even during showering.

The 5-layer dressing absorbs, channels, and traps exudate, allowing for effective control of exudate progression. The layers direct the exudate away from the wound bed, preventing it from flowing back into the wound, even under compression dressings. Consequently, this dressing has up to 2.2 times higher exudate absorption compared to other tested foam dressings with an adhesive edge and is capable of absorbing both normal and viscous exudate.

The proven Safetac technology minimizes pain and reduces wound and skin damage during dressing changes, while also lowering the risk of maceration compared to conventional self-adhesive dressings.

Areas of application

Mepilex Border Flex is designed for a wide range of exuding wounds, including pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, traumatic wounds (such as skin tears), and surgical wounds. It can also be used in combination with gels for dry and necrotic wounds. Additionally, Mepilex Border Flex is suitable for prophylactic treatment to prevent skin injuries like pressure ulcers and to reduce post-operative blistering.

The three-part peel-off film ensures precise and secure placement of the wound dressing without wrinkles, edge peeling, or the need for reapplication. The patented Flex technology allows Mepilex Border Flex to move in any direction, reducing stress on the skin and enhancing comfort. The Exudate Progress Monitor facilitates objective assessment and documentation of exudate distribution without interfering with wound healing, making it suitable for various exudating wounds.
