Mepilex Border Flex has better conformability compared to other tested foam dressings with an adhesive border due to its unique flex technology. This dressing follows the patient's movements and does not come off even in the shower.

The 5-layer dressing absorbs, channels, and traps exudate, allowing for better control of exudate progression. The layers channel the exudate away from the wound bed and prevent it from flowing back into the wound, even under a compression dressing. As a result, this dressing has up to 2.2 times higher exudate absorption compared to other tested foam dressings with an adhesive edge and absorbs both normal and viscous exudate.

The proven Safetac technology ensures less pain and reduces wound and skin damage when changing the dressing, with a lower risk of maceration than conventional self-adhesive dressings.

Areas of application

Mepilex Border Flex has been developed for a wide range of exuding wounds, including pressure ulcers, leg and foot ulcers, traumatic wounds (such as skin tears), and surgical wounds. It can also be used in combination with gels for dry and necrotic wounds and as part of a prophylactic treatment to prevent skin injuries like pressure ulcers and reduce post-operative blistering.

The three-part peel-off film ensures precise and secure placement of the wound dressing without wrinkles forming, edges peeling off, or the need for reapplication. The patented Flex technology allows Mepilex Border Flex to move in any direction, reducing stress on the skin and increasing comfort. The Exudate Progress Monitor allows for objective assessment and documentation of exudate distribution without interfering with wound healing. Suitable for a variety of exudating wounds.
