Product details
When one eye is crossed, the brain receives different visual impressions from both eyes that no longer match. In response, the brain ignores the images from the crossed eye. The vision of the deviating eye is no longer utilized, leading to a gradual weakening. This is where the eye patch therapy comes into play. The healthy or better-seeing eye of the child is covered, forcing the brain to use the visual impressions from the crossed eye. This way, vision is retrained. Typically, vision improves after a short period.
The first important information for parents: Eye patch therapy—known in medical terms as occlusion therapy—is simple, painless, and effective. With the support of an eye doctor and vision therapy center, it is determined when and for how long a child should wear the eye patch. Parents can manage the application themselves. The non-crossed or better-seeing eye is covered with the patch in phases according to an individual therapy plan. The eye patch is simply placed directly over the healthy eye. Existing glasses can be worn comfortably over it.
Since the eye patches offered here are skin-friendly, hypoallergenic, latex-free, preservative-free, and very comfortable to wear, longer usage is also not a problem.
