Instant ice and heat packs are used to treat a wide range of soft tissue injuries. Therefore, these products must be certified as Class IIa medical devices and accredited according to ISO13485:2016, as required by the Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

If an instant ice or heat pack does not bear a CE mark or a regulatory number, it is not suitable for medical or therapeutic use.
