Floome measures the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) and presents the results immediately on the smartphone. A corresponding app is available from the manufacturer for iOS and Android.
Before using the Floome for the first time, a few questions about your gender, height and weight need to be answered so that the app can better calculate the BAC and the time it takes to break down in the body. The country setting also sets the legally permitted blood alcohol limit for driving motor vehicles. The Floome works completely without batteries, simply plug the Floome with its jack plug into the headphone input of the smartphone and blow into the rotating mouthpiece. A red screen next to the per mille value indicates when the legally permitted per mille value has been exceeded. The app then indicates the recommended waiting time that the body needs to break down the alcohol in the blood and be below the blood alcohol limit again. A statistics function provides an overview of the measured alcohol values. In the Floome the same sensor works as in official police measuring instruments and it offers a per mil value accuracy of 0.075 per mille.
