Blue detectable plasters, known as catering plasters, are used in many areas of food preparation, from sandwich shops to butcheries to cake manufacturers and large food production lines. The plasters are recognized directly due to their blue color (there are no natural foods that are blue), but also because of an aluminum foil underneath the wound plaster that can be detected by metal detectors. The third method of detection is the X-ray thread under the wound pad, which makes these plasters X-ray safe. The Detectaplast® Waterproof & Super Stretch waterproof and elastic plasters are made from very strong, waterproof PE material. The hypoallergenic adhesive also adheres very well under difficult conditions. The absorbent wound pad does not stick to the wound.
