The highly absorbent foam dressing with a silicone border combines the effective exudate management of Cutimed Siltec with the active ingredient-free bacteria-binding effect of Cutimed Sorbact. Thanks to its purely physical mode of action, Cutimed Sorbact binds and removes bacteria without releasing antimicrobial agents (Sorbact technology). The special Sorbact coating gives the product strong hydrophobic (water-repellent) properties. Many pathogenic bacteria and fungi are naturally hydrophobic and therefore adhere to the Sorbact material. This reduces the bacterial load in the wound with each dressing change and creates optimal conditions for the natural wound healing process.

• No known mechanisms for resistance development in bacteria or fungi against Cutimed Sorbact.
