The battery-operated LifePad also provides acoustic signals for the optimal compression rate of 100 compressions per minute. Visual signals give feedback on compression depth, which is particularly helpful for inexperienced rescuers. When used in conjunction with a defibrillator, the LifePad's signal tone can be turned off.
