Product details
Features: - Transforms into a moist gel upon contact with wound exudate. - Does not adhere to the wound; the gel does not dissolve and is easy to remove. - Can absorb up to 20 times its own weight in fluid, keeping the wound moist. - Supports autolysis (self-dissolution of dead body cells by enzymes) through the release of calcium. - Can be combined with Tegaderm Foam.
Indications: - Ideal for moderately to heavily exuding wounds. - For lightly exuding wounds, Tegaderm Alginate should be moistened. - Venous, arterial, and diabetic ulcers. - As a tamponade in wound cavities and tunnels. - For pressure ulcers (locally confined damage to the skin and/or underlying tissue, usually over bony prominences, due to pressure).
No known contraindications.
Application: Tegaderm Alginate can be cut to size with sterile scissors or folded to fit the wound size. Place the dressing on the wound surface or into deep wounds. For drier wounds, you can moisten the dressing with Ringer's or saline solution. Cover the dressing with a secondary dressing. Remove Tegaderm Alginate as needed or after a maximum of 7 days. It can be removed in one piece. Any fiber residues can be rinsed from the wound or are easily absorbed by the body. 1 piece in a sterile peel pack, 10 pieces = 1 box.
