Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) knew each other in their youth, long before they discovered their extraordinary abilities and became famous as Professor X and Magneto. Back then, they were not arch-enemies but close friends who, along with other mutants, tried to save the world from destruction.
