Collection 4 features three additional full-length adaptations: The Pale Horse: Inspector Laurence receives a tip from a priest about the unnatural deaths of several people who were officially declared to have died of natural causes. When the priest is murdered, he investigates the case and the statement of pharmacist Cornille, who accuses a man who can only walk with crutches. When Alice Avril's young neighbor Francine also dies, the fortune teller Sybille and her medium Irène come under suspicion of having contributed to Francine's death with a curse. Using Alice as bait, Laurence tries to lure the murderer into a trap. He also makes an undercover bet on her death with a certain Bonnet, leading to the appearance of an interviewer and a fake gasman. Alice falls gravely ill but is saved at the last moment by Dr. Maillol. The gasman turns out to be the culprit.
