Winter on the Bassin d’Arcachon. This means a boom for the oyster farmers, as holidays in France are unimaginable without seafood. However, during this time, the notorious oyster thieves are particularly active. Commissioner Luc Verlain is also on the Bassin, as he wants to visit his father, a former oyster farmer, one last time in his old workplace. But their boat tour comes to an abrupt end when they suddenly encounter the bodies of two young men tied to poles. Were they farmers trying to deprive the region's oyster mogul of part of his holiday revenue? Or was another thief trying to distract from his own activities? The investigations by Luc and his partner Anouk lead deep into an industry corrupted by greed and competition.
