New York. Veronika is young, beautiful, and successful. Yet, she is bored with her life. After a failed suicide attempt, Veronika wakes up in the Villete mental hospital. There, the doctors inform her that due to the late effects of her overdose, she has only a few days left to live. Now, Veronika must come to terms with the fact that she can no longer choose the time of her death. Faced with a life without tomorrow, Veronika spends her last days as she sees fit. And she falls in love with the schizophrenic Edward. Veronika finds a new will to live, and together they escape from the clinic. But Veronika's last week is coming to an end...
