The sword of Gandalf, the wizard. The history of this magical sword is mysterious and enigmatic. Elrond deciphered the runic inscription in Rivendell, which states that it was once forged for Turgon, the king of Gondolin. Gandalf found the sword, just like Bilbo, in the troll caves after he had turned the trolls to stone through a clever trick. The name of his sword "Glamdring" comes from Sindarin and means "Hammer of the Enemy." The blade emits a pale light whenever orcs are nearby.
