Tyll

Tyll Ulenspiegel – vagabond and showman, entertainer and provocateur – is born at the beginning of the 17th century in a village where his father, a miller, soon comes into conflict with the church as a magician and explorer of the world. Tyll must flee, accompanied by the baker's daughter Nele. On their journey through the war-torn lands of the Thirty Years' War, they encounter many common people and some of the so-called greats: scholars, doctors, executioners, jugglers, and an exiled royal couple. Their fates intertwine into a tapestry of time, an epic of the Thirty Years' War. And who else could it unfold around but Tyll, that enigmatic jester who one day decides never to die.
