Tyll

A radio play production by WDR: featuring a high-profile cast including Lars Rudolph, Sylvester Groth, Gerd Warmeling, and others. Tyll Ulenspiegel - a vagabond and showman, entertainer and provocateur - is born at the beginning of the 17th century in a village where his father, a miller, soon comes into conflict with the church as a magician and explorer of the world. Tyll must flee, accompanied by the baker's daughter Nele. On their journey through the war-torn lands of the Thirty Years' War, they encounter many common people as well as some of the so-called greats: scholars, doctors, executioners, and jugglers, an exiled royal couple, and not least a worldly wise man whose greatest secret is that he has fabricated and invented his sensational experimental results.
