Franz Hohler skillfully plays with the curiosity of his readers in his intricately woven narrative. Just like his protagonist Isabelle, one unexpectedly finds oneself in the tragic life story of a stranger. This story begins with his death - as one might suspect - on platform 4. More precisely, on the platform of platform 4 at Oerlikon station. There, he had carried Isabelle's heavy suitcase up the steep stairs, only to suddenly collapse and die. Isabelle, a caregiver by profession, tries to revive the elderly man, but all that remains is his last whispered word to her: "Please." Driven by guilt (Was her heavy suitcase the trigger for his heart failure?) and this undefined "Please," Isabelle, along with the reader, embarks on a quest for answers that takes on a partially investigative tone.
