Miriam (Tomomi Themann) is staying with her friend Ida (Emilia Maier) for a few months, and during this time, they both attend Winterstein School together. She knows nothing about the magical community. However, on her very first day of school, Mr. Morrison (Milan Peschel) introduces two new magical animals to the class: Max (Thilo Fridolin Matthes) receives the owl Muriel (voice: Annett Louisan), and to Miriam's great surprise, she gets the energetic lemur Fitzgeraldo (voice: Daniel Zillmann). Muriel quickly realizes that Max may have deeper feelings for his best friend Leonie (Purnima Grätz) than he thinks. Miriam confides in Fitzgeraldo that she was an outsider at her old school. Then, Ida accidentally discovers that Winterstein School is set to be closed. In the upcoming school challenge, Ida and her class see their last chance to save the school and, with it, the magical community. To her shock, Miriam learns that her former school, along with her old classmate Torben (Philip Müller), is also participating in the competition. Pressured by her old class, Miriam finds herself caught in the middle. Can Winterstein School win the school challenge? And can the class prevent the school closure as a result?.
