The tired happiness

"As long as you grow, Mr. Hopp, you are not lost. Your happiness is just a bit tired. So grow!" Few figures from the Old Testament stand as grand and solemn in revelation as Job. Hardly any other has been interpreted so often and placed in new contexts, and it is no coincidence that the name of the unfortunate man has left its mark even in everyday speech. When we talk about "Job's messages," we associate it with "bad news," and not without reason. But what happens to Job, why does it happen to him, how does he react, and how does it all end? Roger Willemsen has adapted the ancient material and retold it for adults, as well as for children from about eight years old, in such a way that the question of faith in God is not at the center, but rather the handling of misfortune. What is crucial for this version of the story is not primarily the onset of catastrophe.
