The survivors

After two decades, brothers Benjamin, Pierre, and Nils return to the place of their childhood – a wooden house by the lake – to scatter their mother's ashes. A journey through the rugged, untouched nature as well as through time. In the struggle for their mother's love, which was at times distant and harsh, and then almost tender, the boys wore themselves out back then. Today, they feel so far apart that it seems there is no possibility of coming together again. And yet, there remains a glimmer of hope to mend the rift in their world if they dare to venture into the past together once more.
