Claudia Michelsen knows that life can be pretty rough at times. This is probably why she succeeds so well in giving the tomboyish and not always likeable investigator Jane Rizzoli an authentic voice. It is to Michelsen's credit that you can feel the tender core beneath the policewoman's tough exterior.
