The song of the orcas

Together with her father, a photographer, Sofie embarks on a long and unusual journey into the North American wilderness. It is an expedition into the world and ancient traditions of the Makah Indians. The Makahs, who once engaged in whaling, invite Sofie and her father to join a whale watching tour shortly after their arrival. The wild coastal landscape and the majestic orcas leave a deep impression on Sofie – as does her encounter with the Makah boy Javid. When the two venture out to sea alone for a second time to visit the orcas, it seems that an invisible bond has formed between them. However, their friendship must endure difficult tensions.
